English poetry, Mindful

Torn Apart

A strong pillar it was,

So tall it stood,

With happiness amid,

And confidence a tip,

Then a storm fell,

It shook and swayed,

Trying to restrain itself,

But alas it collapsed,

With such a crack,

That if all had beheld,

Would have welled!
